Our Mission, Vision and Values

Our Mission

Police in the community

The mission of the Kentucky Regional Community Policing Institute is to encourage and enhance the implementation of community policing in Kentucky in order to create safer communities through training and technical assistance.  Training is centered on the development and delivery of quality training for police agencies and citizens throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky as well as nationally-focused activities.

The Kentucky RCPI offers technical assistance to law enforcement agencies through a variety of methods, which include, but are not limited to, on-site organization/community assessment, tailored problem solving, Police Training Officer Program training, and assistance with chief’s selection processes. Training includes seminars and workshops for line officers, supervisors, police executives, as well as citizens, elected officials and community members. Most training courses for law enforcement personnel are certified for KLEC credit.
